The Essential Packing Guide List for Ireland

Our packing list should be used as a guide only and is not intended to be a complete packing list. Any other items that you wish to pack are at your own discretion; however, you should attempt to follow our suggested luggage weight limit of under 10kg/22lb. Some items on this list may not be necessary for your particular tour. What you bring will vary according to the tour you’ve chosen, and the time of year you’re travelling. We recommend you check the details of your tour when deciding what to pack.

1. Travel Documents

Passport including spare passport photos

Visas required for this trip

Flight tickets

Tour confirmation voucher

Travel insurance including insurer details, 24 hr

Emergency contact telephone number and policy number (even if you are travelling with credit card insurance)

Photocopies of important documents – to be kept separately (we recommend you keep a copy at home as well and email a copy to yourself)

Latest trip notes

Youth/Student card/ Seniors card for travel discounts

2. Personal clothing and items

Warm anorak/sweater/microfleece

Long-sleeved top (for cold weather)

Long trousers (zip-off trousers are very versatile)

Jeans/trousers/shorts (if you are lucky)

T-Shirts/cotton shirts



Shaving equipment

Mobile phone – check you have international roaming access

Rubber flip-flops for showers



Electrical adapter for the Irish plugs and sockets system

Camera equipment (remember memory cards/spare batteries/charger)

Waterproof casing (It rains in Ireland sometimes!)

Money (cash/credit cards)

Money belt or pouch

3. Activity Equipment List

Small rucksack for daily activity excursions

Walking boots/shoes (make sure they are comfortable)

Rain Jacket/ Pants

Thermal underwear or base layers

Hiking socks

Hat and Gloves (inner and outer layers)

Hiking poles/walking sticks

Spare clothes and shoes for after activity

Water bottle/Platypus

Swim Suit


Sunscreen (We do occasionally get a bit of sunshine!)
