Accommodation

When travelling with Wild ‘N’ Happy we have your experience and comfort in mind. For that reason we use 3-4 star or above hotel and guesthouse accommodation throughout our tours. Each location is carefully selected to provide you with an authentic and memorable experience.

You will be provided with a full listing of accommodation in our Welcome to Ireland pack which will be sent to you via email 2 weeks prior to your arrival in Ireland.  If your family requires contact information, or in case of emergency, please contact the Tour Leader directly. Their contact details will also be listed in the Welcome to Ireland pack.

Age Restrictions

To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age.  An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18. There are no upper age limits on our tours. Our Family Adventures are open to families with children aged between 5 and 17 years of age.

All passengers are required to complete a medical questionnaire.

Airfares

Travellers arrive from all over the world to begin our tours and it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices. We would be happy to help you arrange flights. Just ask for an air quote when making your booking.

Airport Transfers

Most of our tours do include airport transfers for 6+ passengers (See terms and conditions for details).  If you are travelling alone we can pre-arrange a transfer for you at an additional cost – please contact us for more information.

Food & Drink in Ireland

We will try our very best to accommodate all dietary requirements. Please let us know at the time of booking of any food requirements or allergies and we’ll pass the information onto your Tour Leaders.

Food is one of the most exciting parts of travel. There may be some familiar dishes but you may encounter new and interesting culinary delights that for the adventurer may just be worth the risk. However, if you don’t like to take risks with your food then our flexible itineraries often allow you to eat with the group or explore on your own – this means you can eat to suit any budget or desire.

In most cases it is possible to drink the local water in Ireland. However, it is always wise to ask the premises that you are at if it is possible.

How to obtain Tour Travel Notes

Each of our tours has a set of Tour Travel Notes, accessible on our website that gives you in-depth information about all aspects of your tour. To access your Tour Travel Notes, please visit your tour’s specific facts page on our website. Equally, you will be provided with a Welcome to Ireland pack which will be sent to you via email 2 weeks prior to your arrival in Ireland detailing complete Tour Travel Notes.

Luggage & What Should I Pack?

On all tours, we advise to pack as lightly as possible because you will be expected to carry your own bag and although you won’t be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight under 10kg / 22lb.

Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice if you travel lightly. Smaller bags or backpacks with wheels are convenient although we recommend your bag has carry straps to accommodate the cobbled streets, uneven surfaces, stairs and steps you are lightly to encounter while carrying your luggage.

You’ll need a day pack/bag to carry activity equipment, water and other personal items for each daily activity or excursion. You can find Mor Active Tours Travel Packing List on our website. It should be used as a guide only and isn’t intended to be a complete packing list.

Medical Information and Injuries

Our Tour Leaders are all trained First-Aiders and will endeavour to get you help as quickly as possible. If you must leave the tour early due to illness, our office will help you find appropriate medical care and ensure someone at home is aware of the situation. We will do whatever we can to get you home or on your onward journey. Your travel insurance, which is compulsory on all our tours, should cover any costs incurred if illness occurs.

All passengers are required to complete a medical questionnaire. This information will be kept confidential

There are currently no vaccinations that are required for entry into Ireland. However, we recommend that you seek appropriate advice from a qualified medical professional or a specialist from a Travel Health clinic.

Availability of refrigeration cannot be guaranteed. As a general rule, many of our accommodation venues will provide access to small fridges. Please advise Wild ‘N’ Happy if you are travelling with medication that requires refrigeration.

Optional Activities

Our tours always offer a bunch of exciting optional activities. When you arrive at each destination, your leader will brief you on your options and help you book them. If you are keen to plan ahead, the Trip Notes have a list of included and optional activities under each day in the itinerary. You’ll also find more options on the ground, which your Tour Leader will advise you of at the time.

You have the option of pre-booking optional activities or booking them on arrival at each destination. Taking the pre-booking option will in most cases guarantee you a place on the selected activity. In the case of not pre –booking we will try our best to accommodate you but we cannot guarantee there will be availability.

There is absolutely no problem with that. If they are included or optional activities that you don’t wish to participate in, you can do your own thing instead. The exception to this is when we are travelling from one destination to the next. In this case you can travel with your Tour Leader in our vehicle. Please note that if you choose to opt out of an included activity, no reimbursement can be made by Wild ‘N’ Happy.

Room Types

Depending on the tour you choose, our tours are organised on a twin-share basis. As our bookings are made well in advance, individual room requests can’t be guaranteed.

Rooming is primarily organised on a twin-share basis. However, most of our tours do have a single supplement available – please check a tours summary page on our website to see whether a single supplement is offered on your particular tour. If so, please request this at the time of booking. You can book pre and post accommodation on a single basis.

Safety

We recommend having access to money from a variety of sources – cash, cards and travel money cards are all commonly used.

While we take all necessary precautions to make sure your belongings are safe on tour, we cannot guarantee 100% security. That is why we recommend travel insurance.

Tour Companions

For privacy reasons we cannot provide you with advance details on your traveling companions. However, our tours appeal to a wide range of travellers, most of whom share an adventurous spirit and a desire to experience these destinations.  Our tours are conducted in English and so they attract many travellers from North America, UK, and Europe.

Tour Group Size

We keep our group sizes low, 12-19 people, though our group sizes are on average 10 people. This allows you to have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings, as well as more personal attention from our Tour Leaders.  Please check our individual tour pages for maximum group sizes.

Tour Itinerary

It is possible to leave a tour early however you won’t be reimbursed for any portion of the tour unused. You would also be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or leaving one early. If you feel this may be necessary please contact Wild ‘N’ Happy before your departure and we will notify our Tour Leaders so they can best accommodate your requirements.

Please make sure you are happy with your group tour itinerary before booking because we are unable to change them for individual travellers. However, if you and a group of friends, colleagues would like your own personally designed itinerary, get in contact with us and we will be more than happy to tailor an itinerary that is just right for you.

Yes that is absolutely no problem. Just ask your Wild ‘N’ Happy Representative at the time of booking.

Tour Transport

Trip specific information on transportation can be found on the trip summary page however in most cases we use our private bus/coach transport.

Travel Insurance

Our tours do not include travel insurance which is compulsory for all Wild ‘N’ Happy tours and should be taken out at the time of booking. We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive insurance cover for cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident, personal baggage, money and public liability before travelling. We accept no responsibility for the theft, loss or damage to personal belongings or liability for personal injury/death at any time during the duration of your tour.

You must provide proof of your travel insurance on the first day of your tour; you will not be able to join the tour without it. If you obtain travel insurance through us you acknowledge that you are satisfied with the level of insurance we have arranged. To find out more about travel insurance or purchase it through Wild ‘N’ Happy please contact us.

Travelling Alone

Yes it is 100% OK. In fact the majority of our clients join because they are travelling solo and want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people like you

As a single traveller, you will usually have the choice of either paying a single supplement or sharing with someone of the same gender.

Weather in Ireland

We have a saying in Ireland ‘If you don’t like the weather just wait a minute’. Which means expect to have four seasons in one day.

As Ireland’s weather is dominated by the Atlantic Ocean, as such we have far smaller temperature variations across the seasons than other countries this far north of the equator. Temperatures vary from an average of 8C/46F in the winter to 19C/66F in the summer. So

For more general weather information we suggest you visit www.worldweather.org
